The Indian arm of Toyota Motors on Thursday agreed before the Supreme Court to pay INR 25 lakh as compensation for an accident involving its 'Fortuner' SUV in November 2012 that resulted in the death of the driver and serious injury to the owner. Production of Toyota Fortuner offroaders has been kick-started in Kostanay, in northern Kazakhstan, Tengrinews reports. However on making all directors of the Indian unit of Toyota Motor parties to a criminal case filed by the owner of a Toyota Fortuner SUV, who accused them with cheating, forgery and criminal conspiracy saying that the airbags of the vehicle didn't deploy in against the directors of the Indian unit of Toyota Motors after the company promised to compensate the owner of a Toyota Fortuner SUV who prosecuted them after his vehicle's airbags didn't deploy in an accident.
